Meet the Gold Coast Clinic

Owen , TMS Technician

Owen is the senior clinician at our Queensland clinics. He is passionate about working with young people, members of the LGBTIQAP+ communities, people who have experienced trauma, and people with issues with drug and alcohol use. He is particularly interested in working at the intersection of these four groups.

Owen studied music for many years and enjoyed a brief career as a professional opera singer, working with Opera Australia, Opera Queensland, and State Opera of South Australia. He performed in concert with a number of the state symphony orchestras as well as with Baroque ensembles and on Brampton Island with a jazz combo, before deciding to change careers and become a psychologist.

He has experience across a range of government and non-government organisations including headspace, Twenty10 inc. the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service, and Queensland Health Youth Alcohol and Drug Service. Owen has volunteered as a telephone counsellor at both Lifeline and QLife, as a group facilitator at Wayahead, and as a mentor at Centre for Hope.

Owen has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Macquarie University and is enrolled in the Master of Psychology in Counselling Psychology program at the University of Queensland. He is currently registered as a provisional psychologist.
